Not a burger fan but a Japanese friend called the other day and asked if I would like to go to Harajuku to try a hamburger served at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers. Apparently, the store in Harajuku has been around for awhile and a new Teddy’s Bigger Burgers opened in Yokohama. After all these years and no restaurant like Teddy’s Bigger Burgers has been selling a comparable burger in Japan? Had to decline my friend’s invitation to go eat a hamburger and French fries (fried in oil that are trans-fats) because I don’t eat food like this, but suggested soba instead (buckwheat flour) at a soba shop which serves the best hand made soba ever rolled on a wooden board this side of Tokyo. Teddy’s Bigger Burgers also serves what have become known as “Hawaiian pancakes.” More of a good marketing name. Haven’t a clue why pancakes are known as “Hawaiian”, not unless these pancakes served at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers are saturated in white processed sugar and come in at 1500 calories topped with ice cream, whipped cream and white powdered sugar…yuck…imagine having these pancakes after eating one of these hamburgers with fries?
