Sumitomo Chemicals, Nippon Soda and Mitsui Chemicals manufacture neonicotinoids and the bee population in Japan

bees in tokyoSince a neighbor and I started raising bees last year together, we don’t known the status of the bee population here in Japan compared to the alarmingly huge decrease in bee population taking place in the US. In a news article published by RT, it was stated that “nearly half of the US bee population has collapsed“, calling it a “bee genocide”. The reason given for the collapse of the bee population in the US has been up until now attributed to “colony collapse disorder” (not accurate at all suggesting biologists don’t know and petrochemical corporations don’t want to admit) and the vorroa mite. However, it has now been determined the reason for the collapse of bee populations which is beyond tragic, is probably because of the class of neuro-active insecticides chemically similar to nicotine known as neonicotinoids.

The Japanese chemical manufacturing companies Sumitomo Chemicals, Mitsui Chemicals and Nippon Soda, all manufacturer products containing neoicotinoids, but it is not known to what extent these chemicals are used in Japan, or whether or not these chemicals containing neoicotinoids are having an effect on bee populations in Japan. The products manufactured by these three large Japanese chemical companies include Clothianidin manufactured by Sumitomo Chemicals; Acetamiprid manufactured by Nippon Soda; Nitenpyram manufactured by Sumitomo Chemicals; Dinetofuron manufactured by Mitsui Chemicals. The large German petrochemical company Bayer CropScience also manufacturers neoicotinoinds and recently, a news article appeared indicating the giant petrochemical company Bayer, made an offer to buy the giant American corporation Monsanto. Monsanto also is involved in neoicotinoid when its GMO soybean crops were sprayed with bee-killing neoicotinoid.

bees in TokyoAs an example, here is a description of what the chemical Nitenpyram is and what effects it has on insects. Bees are considered insects. The bees are getting annihilated by this toxic shit but no one wants to admit it for fear of coping into direct confrontation with these powerful petrochemical corporations that have billions of dollars at stake. The Mitsui Chemical corporations manufactures Dinetofuron which is toxic to almost every insect known but did Mitsui Chemicals ever stop and consider the bees are also being devastated by this insecticide especially in the US where this shit is heavily used?

Nitenpyram is an insecticide used in agriculture and veterinary medicine to kill external parasites of pets. It is a neonicotinoid, a neurotoxin that blocks neural messages and binds particularly tightly in the central nervous system of insects, causing rapid death.”

The collapse of bees in the US has now gone critical (See news video below). So the question is: If these toxic pesticides are annihilating bee populations, what are these neoicotinoids doing to compromise human health when people eat crops sprayed with this shit? How much of these pesticides can be accumulated in the body before human physiology starts to break down? Noticing Sumitomo Chemicals stock just took a 3.61 percent decrease last week priced at ¥481 per share, that is good news, time to develop chemicals that aren’t responsible for whacking bees, or worse, “genociding” them.
